finding a small figure 9 biner...

The first of many (I'm sure) questions to come:

where might I find a pair of small figure 9 biners for my hammock setup? I'm using a pair from Lowes Home Improvement - yeah, yeah, I know - but they work and have been useful in refining my system!

    Thanks in advance!

Nite ize makes some. Lots of folks get fussy about them but I sue them and they are ok for tarps. Dutch has some nice titanium stuff for load bearing. I am not sure about figure 9 though.

I've only ever seen the small ones in packs of 4 with cordage. Otherwise you could go for the Dutchware Wasp or other options...

I am meaning to try some of the Dutchware stuff out. It is just that titanium isn't cheap and I already own perfectly good nite-ize. I'll jsut have to wait until it rolls around for NEEDING to be replaced.

they aren't cheap, that's for sure - but they're elegant as all get out!

I may just go with the Wasp, if it will work on 1/8 cord... might be too small, dunno.

EDIT: nah, it's only for tarp lines - way too small. The large Niteize won't work, either, as it only has a 150# load limit. I ain't that small.

The fig.9 is nice I have a few... I copied it to a lexan and shaved 9.4 grams and only lost about 5 % of the working load.
There are some alum. window parts that can be adapted to work just as well....

Dutch, one of the cottage vendors here on the forums, makes some nice hardware that IMHO are superior to the fig9s. http://dutchwaregear.com/

For smaller figure9's you may find them at REI. What are you using them for? people may pipe up with suggestions if they knew what part of your suspension you're talking about.
