    Topless

Ok it's out for the past couple weeks I've been sleeping topless (tarpless) so yesterday they were calling for the dreaded r word (rain) so I put my tarp up and slept under it last night. Does putting a tarp up make mosquitoes worse. I have slept in the same spot with the temps being about the same, the only difference was the tarp and I bout got carried away for about 2 hours. Just wonder what's your thoughts on this peoples

well if you had a breeze over your hammock without the tarp, and had it now blocked by the tarp. That would explain it for me. Or maybe you trap some more heat under the tarp and this attracted the them...
Other then that nothing comes to mind directly.

The tarp breaking the wind seems like a good explanation....

Or carbon dioxide? Don't bugs hone in oiin us based on that? Maybe the CO2 levels are a little higher under a tarp than out int he open...

or maybe it was the rain? Around here at least the rain brings out the bigs...

I think CO2 levels might be a contributing factor as well as a little less air flow as mentioned.

Agreed. C02 is definitely the way Mosquitos find us. Also, they depend on wind current to help carry them miles. No wind, they can stay put longer.

Mosquitos are very attracted to stinky feet and carbon dioxide. Next in line are sweat, heat, movement, and type O blood.

Yep. Strange but true. But, what they really like is feet sweat smell. Maybe that's because most of us don't use anything to mask the odor of our feet like we do other parts of our body.
