    Video: Kayaking BWCA May 2014

Spent four days kayaking in the BWCA to Lake Ensign with my son and friends. Lows in the upper 20's, highs in the 50's. Ice went out just four days prior.

Are you trying to view from work? A lot of work places block youtube.

One of the best parts of the trip was paddling back to camp at sunset after an evening of fishing. So I created a short video of just that experience.

    Inspirational video

Great video, you included so many different elements, wildlife, fishing, campsites, scenery, lake, river. BWCA has been on my "to do list" for a long time but the few Texas friends of mine that occasionally go insist on flying up there and renting ultra-lite canoe for easier portage. I don't like to be tied down due to inclement weather with an open hull, and if possible will always take a kayak. Did you portage very far and how?

BTW on a google/android smart phone I got a "video is unavailable on this platform" message but it worked just fine in high definition on a laptop (MacBook Pro).

We had one short portage that we were able to carry without unloading kayaks. With two people you can carry the boats with the handles on the front and back. These were 17ft sea kayaks that are a little heavy and long portages would be a little tougher. If I was going to go deeper into the BWCA with a lot of portages, I would either get a Canak or a solo canoe.

Thanks for sharing the adventure. Looks like y'all had a great time. Really liked your choice of tunes. About 2.17 in the video you scoop up your food, pop it in your mouth, grin with approval and the crowd cheers. All in time to the music! Enjoyed it so much I watched it twice.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Its all about timing, and the steak was worthy of an applause!
