Gosh, looks as if I'm on the cutting edge! lol

<< You've just had me complete an interesting exercise. We only launched the SuperLight range about three weeks ago and they've sure been flying out the doors; however on doing a quick check just now the vast majority of 'sets' (Combo deals and SuperLight hammock, tarp and mosquito net trio) appear to have gone to customers within the UK and Europe.

Although we've sold a fair few S/L items to the US it would seem that they appear to be ordering e.g. the hammock and mosi net or e.g. the tarp rather than the 'set.'

Yours is the second 'combo deal' (including Action Pack) to the US - welcome to the newbie gang!!

    Kind regards,

    Penny

Superlight Combo and UnderbLanket delivered to Okeechobee, FLorida, at approx 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. I was advised that the package had been dispatched on May 23 at 7:14 a.m, (System adjusted for time difference). Four days is truly amazing, especially considering that there was a Bank Holiday in UK and Memorial Day holiday in the US on Monday.

Have unpacked and photographed. Will set up later on. Bit awkward among the cypress trees.

Action Pack - feels heavier than stated 15 oz, which is to be expected from rubberized oxford "canvas"

    Sorry, scales are in Miami

Included were some very nice brochures (and my free T-shirt - see website for design choices)

Oh, wow! This is definitely a "Don't leave home without it" hammock. It is sooo light. And I was very comfortable. I'm only 5' but am fairly wide. Lengthwise there was plenty of space left over and I was able to get on a comfortable diagonal lay. Penny, of DDH, said that they have many tall customers who are very happy and comfortable. Perfect to take in carry-on in case a suitable hanging spot materializes.

I was concerned about using tree huggers. Theirs are lighter than grosgrain ribbon. The hardest part was getting around the girth of the cypress trees. The soft shackles were interesting but I'm glad I got the micro-biners.

The biggest surprise was a ridgeline with organizer pockets. Not sure where to attach or how. Think I should make this a SRL. How do I attach it to the hammock end/whoopies?

    image.jpg

Net is super easy to attach and has cord locks at each end to cinch closed. The draw cord underneath is also brilliantly simple. The net-on-face wasn't that bad but will be better when I attach the ridgeline.

View from the hammock. Just bought a trailer in an RV park in Okeechobee, FL. (Will be here part time)

Rain forced me to retreat. Will set up with Underblanket today.

EDIT - sorry pix are upside down. Had iPad on lock rotation.

Sorry. Keep forgetting to unlock iPad rotation. It looked fine when I wrote the captions. Can anyone rotate them for me? Mmm when I click on each photo it shows OK.

The Underblanket was just as easy to set up. I like the center cinch up point. Can tighten while in hammock. It's rated for ~5'degrees Celsius. Very compact.

    image.jpg

I'm not sure whether I was supposed to do anything - apart from hooking the biner to the loop on the hammock - with the shock cord ties. They are knotted at each end; no cord lock. I'm assuming that they are just there so that as you stretch out they will confirm to that shape.

    image.jpg

Just watched a video and see that I was supposed to cinch up the end so I wouldn't have that gap.

One thing I find very useful - especially for people who own more than one hammock, UQ etc. - is that DD hammocks and the item are stamped in highly visible white. The hammock bag (and perhaps the others) has all the specs printed on the outside.

Here's the view from my new trailer in Okeechobee.

Note the cypress tree - I can put my feet up in slightly sitting up mode or use it to push off and swing a bit. Needless to say, I had a snooze the first time, and it was nice and cool. The second time, with the UB it was decidedly warmer.

Am back in Miami for family events. Will try the tarp in the next few days. In the meantime, check this video where DDH tarp has been shaped into a tent-like shelter for two. Looks nifty.

I thought of putting the tarp under its own thread, but, since this is part of the combo I ordered, I will keep it together.
