how do shears compare for letting the breezes in?
Shears, they really cut through the breeze...

But if you try sheers, I find that mine are more than adequate for keeping airflow going.
O, i miss spelled , but on a less serious note, it does let the wind in adequately? I use those scissors to clip the skeets wings-
I have and use both. Sheer feels more stuffy than noseesum to me.

I think it was mentioned in a video or thread that the sheers have a smaller opening than noseeum. Making it super bug proof, but I'm also guessing a but more stuffy. Can't speak to actual experience because I will probably order a hammock with an integrated net before I get around to making mine.
I have a video at home that talks about the size of the openings I'll post it when I get there
I guess it depends a lot on if you're backpacking or just camping. I hike long distance and usually walk until dark and by that time the temps aren't an issue as far as stuffiness goes, at least in the mountains. I usually fall asleep fairly quickly and have never noticed stuffiness. OTOH, if you like to sit around camp and noodle the day away, especially at lower elevations in the middle of summer, then you might be better off with noseeum.

:edit:
Nope, didn't work, it's about 1/3 of the way in I think.
