    I don't use prussiks.
    I attach to the tarp, around the tree, over to other tree and back to tarp.

    1 dutch hook, 1 tarp wasp and I can slide the tarp.

    Does this give you the V effect? how much line would you suggest for this style to be able to cover the 16 footer. which I may hang diagonally for group coverage

    I like this because using the prussik is a bit of a pain when tightening the CRL, hence switching to the loop aliens

    No you don't get the V. The tarp is pulled to one side of the tree.
    I just line up my tree strap to the same side.

    Of course, now that I had to hang the tarp for demonstration purposes, and my mtg was cancelled, it is now siesta time!

    My calc for CRL without prussiks is as follows;

    Max distance between trees = MaxT
    Ridgeline length of Tarp = RLT
    Max Circumference of trees = MaxC

    If MaxT = 25ft
    RLT = 16ft
    MaxC = 3ft
    Then

    (MaxT - RLT) + ( MaxC x 2) + MaxT= 40ft

    I don't like to hang 25 distances, I max it out at 20 so the tree straps don't have to be so high. I like 30-35 ft CRL's

    I'd start with 35 and cut it back if you find it is too much.
    Of course right after you cut it, you will need that extra 5ft at your next hang.

    When deciding initial length of cord, don't forget to allow for back splicing, so add a couple feet to your initial length. Ergo, 50ft is a good length to order. Make up the CRL and then cut and backsplice after you've used it a couple times.

    I hate to throw cold water this way, but is this ready to be closed? It looks more like a discussion thread that should be taken up elsewhere than a Trading thread.
