A double layer is sewn/hemmed and forms a natural sleeve. How does that differ from an 'actual' sleeve?

Google the hammock and find out. It's fitted perfectly asym to a pad.

If you're going to get this specific I'd definitely say you want to go with a DIY hammock

There's some comparisons of hammocks here but currently there isn't any with a sleeve https://bestcampinghammockgear.com

Nice choice on the Warbonnet. I've not used one, but I've heard lots of positive. I'm a big fan of double layer for the flexibility they provide. If you're trying to drop ounces ditch the carabiner and learn the marlin spike hitch or better yet the becket hitch. I use a thin layer of foam in my double layers or a reflectix pad I made. Both will set you back around $15. I love my underquilts, but I've been using my pad more and more lately. Good luck, hopefully you enjoy your new setup.

Crayons - they might look different, but they all taste the same
