Materials for CRL and tieouts

Hi all, I'm sure there are zillions of posts about this, but I don't see them at the moment (user error, I'm sure).
What do you think are the best things to use for CRL's and tie outs?
While I'm at it, how much of the lines do you think I need? I have a little shock chord, and I am willing to try to make self tensioning lines for the tieouts, but what do you think is best to use? Cost is a factor, so creativity and effort will be more attractive than paying top dollar for made solutions, for me.

Oh yeah, I want a CRL that can fit my hex fly, as well as my 16' noah. Willing to look at separate lines though. I'll probably need 2 anyway

Zing-it, Lash-it, Amsteel, Techline.....I'm sure you get the idea. All are readily available, easy to work with, and are very durable/strong.

amsteel seems a little overkill and I have two loop aliens that amsteel won't fit through. Between the others, (and I know they are similar) do you have a preference and why? If one is less tangly than the other, that would be interesting to me. I Like the idea of Zing it because it seems like it would be more visible than the others, but I have no experience to know if that's the case.

Zing-it and Lash-it are the same 1.75mm diameter lines except Zing-it is yellow, Lash-it is grey. For less tangling try Speer No Tangle. Amsteel is overkill and besides, you don't want the weakest link in the chain to be your tarp rather, having line break or a cord lock fail is much more preferable to tearing your tarp.

Even with Zing-it or Lash-it, the tarp is still the weak link! By that standard, all dyneema cording is overkill, although I must admit that 7/64 Amsteel is super, mega overkill and could be better used somewhere else. Personally, I use #200 planer board line from Bass Pro. It's slightly thinner than 1.7mm but it still works with tarp flyz or figure 9's and it's blaze orange.

I use Grey Lash-it for the ridgeline because I want it to blend it if it is at eye-level or above but yellow zing-it for the tie-outs to minimize tripping. I buy rolls of it on Amazon, a 180ft roll is ~30-40 depending, which works out to $0.16-0.22/ft which is at worst the same price Dutch charges, but I can get free shipping from amazon.

I use the gray for the ridge line for the same reason.
Yellow for the tie outs so others don't trip over my stuff.

For self tensioning, I'm just gonna use a couple 1/8 shock cord loops.

Braided mason's line is a good, cheap type cord to get started with. While not as durable as some of the other options, it is strong enough for most applications and environments, and is very easy to work with in terms of holding knots, etc. Once you decide on the type of ridgeline configuration you want, etc., you could upgrade to something more durable like the above-mentioned options or some type of reflective line for the guylines like Blue Water 3mm Niteline (6.6g/m, 500 lb tensile strength) or Sterling GLOCord.

You are going to get many, many different answers to this one

On my Noah 12x12 I use Mule Tape for my CRL. On my BCUSA I use #36 Tarred Bank line. All my tie outs are #12 Tarred Bank Line. I use it because it does the job and is inexpensive.
