    For me it depends on the weather. Yes if its raining or looks like it is about to rain you should tarp up first. But I greatly prefer to get the hammock up and uh, test it thoroughly before I have to do anything else.

    Depending on weather, tarp I snakeskin loose enough that it can be centered after the hammock is set up.
