I do it this way also but I use two Dutch Stingerz rather than biners. No prusik knots and both ends are adjustable. Works well

I noticed with tato tarp connectors the CRL has to be pitched a bit higher. What happens is when the tarp is staked out, the tato connector's shock cord stretches. Great piece of hardware otherwise. crazy simple to hang a tarp with those things. Just use a key ring on each end of the tarp.

I do not have the tatos, I use prusik knots with niteize .5 double biners on a CRL with a wasp and and Dutch titanium hook, but I have read on here about people swapping out the shock cord for lash it or zing it and have problems with the tato connectors slipping, so if you buy them be aware of this or do your own research before switching out the shock cord.

I saw in your original post that you were looking to get snake skins for your Superfly. Might I suggest Mountain Goats skins. I used her for mine and I love them. I use them on my Superfly and Edge tarps. She's familiar with making skins for Brandon's tarps so you know they'll fit.

I use klemheist knots - former guylines, tied to a length of slightly thicker rope in each end which goes around the tree. I just leave them on there at all times - tied them once, now all I need to do is adjust them once it's up in the tree. Snakeskins are great, among other things because that helps you make sure it's aligned before you deploy the tarp. Much less hassle.

So, I guess i've always assumed (and we all know where that gets us) hanging the tarp first is the best option. especially in rainy conditions. However, real life i think hanging my hammock and then centering the tarp would be easier.. So... WHICH DO YOU DO? and WHY?
