Even weather forecasters get it right sometimes Looks like a beautiful part of the world.
Sorry to hear about the wet and soggy trip, but your blog is a good read. Thanks for sharing. I bet you will still be talking about this trip for a long time to come.
Thanks for sharing,

Thanks for the replies! Already thinking about where to go next. And gotta learn how to re-waterproof my boots. Lol
So, I have learned a few valuable lessons:
1. The rain is not a force to be reckoned with.
2. Waterproof boots are only waterproof for about 2 hours after which they become heavy-*** wet boots.
3. Sometimes the forecast is right. (Kevin said my new trail name is now, "bad forecast". lol)
Good TR blog.
As someone who grew up just north of you in Huntspatch I gave up on waterproof boots.
Hiking tennis shoes with cabelas neopreme socks do the trick for me. Give it a try.
Keep a dry pair(or2) of wool socks for in the hammock.
I like the new trail name BF.
Nice report. I did -most- of the loop a couple of days ago, starting counterclockwise at Adams Gap. It was my first time on this loop and my first solo backpacking trip. camped at Cheaha Falls. I woke early to try and finish the loop before lunch. I got to the creek crossing past Devil's Den towards the start of Skyway and spent roughly 45 minutes looking for the trail at the other side. I finally gave up after my boots got completely submerged while trying to cross back. I sat at the lake for about an hour when I ran into this group of guys I had met the night before at Cheaha Falls. They were camping at Turnipseed and generously offered to drop me off at Adams Gap. They dropped me off back at my car. I didn't have any cash on me so I gave them a $35 Logan's gift card. At Adams Gap I ran into Jaxx and his nephew who were hiking to Cheaha Falls for the annual Hang. I didn't know about it as I don't keep up with this forum regularly. I will start now. Anyways, I had a good time regardless of the mishaps.
