    DD Underblanket with Dangerbird

So i've been eyeballing the Underblanket, It seems very versatile, price dropped and supposedly down into low 20's? Anybody used it on a gathered end like the dangerbird? Realistic temp range? Also when you got those temps what kind of TQ were you using? Any info appreciated!

I noticed DD are now making an upgraded version of the Snugpak uq. I didn't like the snugpak quilt but it looks like DD have fixed a few issues on their version. Don't know how well the upgrades will have worked though...

What is different that you can see? I've often heard reference to the snugpak. I assumed they were the same spec.

Main differences are that the shape looks like it might taper less towards both ends and the head and foot end both have a cinchable (if that's a word) channel. They have also reduced the weight by 350 grams!

I think they were the same, certainly Snugpak were DD's supplier.

This new DD underblanket seem to solve some of the issues I have with the snugpak underblanket. Lighter and also cheeper (I think). I don't remember the snugpak temperature rating, but I've taken my snugpak underblanket to -5C with just a regular ol' down blanket as a TQ. It worked but I was pushing the limits for that setup.

I just bought a 15 degree down sleeping bag ( TNF Green Kazoo) Hoping this will get me down into the 30s with the DD Underblanket

+1, i have also had mine down to -5°C usong my sb as a quilt, I was cool not too bad. If I had my synth bag zipped up I could probably squeeze another couple ° out of it. Methinks my snugpak blanket will be going on ebay soon.

I pm'd you, but for transparency, I would sell it on ebay because the new dd blanket seems better and is less expensive, if I was in your shoes I would go with that or an equivalent made in the US.

I´ve tested DD Underblanket in 10 °C without any other insulation (like sleeping bag...) and I felt fine. I just tied the upper part of the underblanket with carabiners and it felt like a sleeping bag put around my hammock.
