I like the patrol bag too. Ive slept in mine down to 40. Made tq. And uq out of them both weight about a pound. Love my 50 degree flightjaket. With a sleeping bag liner and clothes I think I can get to 40. Maybe try tewa?

Pure awesomeness! I got one with +1oz and the light weight really scared me. Looks/feels more like something for 60°. My first trip out had a forecasted low of 34°. Got into the upper 30s but didn't even come close to getting cold.

kaq's are not to pricey, and much warmer than pltq's http://www.arrowhead-equipment.com/kick-***-quilts.html
either one will work well though.

Underground quilts make custom top quilts at about the same price as KAQ. only about 10 dollars difference, and UGQ uses down instead of synthetic. I love my UGQ. keeps me toasty!

I've been very happy with an AHE KAQ Owyhee. I like the apex climashield synthetic. My down TQ's (including a Flight Jacket) seem more fragile.

I just recently made my PLTQ. Made it the same dimensions as my HG Burrow Regular. 12.7oz on the scale including the stuff sack.

My flight jacket is really tough. I've gotten it caught on things, scratched, and it still hasn't leaked any down!!!! It's more down proof than my other quilts!

I bought a snug pak jungle blanket and sewed it together at the bottom to create a foot box. Had it down to 43f, about $45 on eBay.
