    Tall Paul,

Thanks for taking us along. Nothing beats being outside with the kids.

Glad to see some of it up close like this. I need to get my Tenkara gear setup and break in my hiking sandals.
GQgeek - you'll love it. We saw plenty of people fishing, both fly & with a rod.

As a matter of fact, Paddlemule and I just got back from there a few minutes ago. We started on the Parkway and came down the MST to Old House Gap but instead of going west on down to Gragg Prong we followed Andrews Creek down into Wilson. A lot of storm damage in there and a lot of bushwacking but still had a ball of fun. Timber Ridge had a lot of blow downs a few years back but it looked better for you guys. Maybe the camera didn't show it all. Looks like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing it!
I re-watched your Wilson Creek videos before our trip, so I was half hoping to come across you & your harmonica somewhere on the trail.
    The water clarity is unbelievable.
The streams/rocks reminded me of what you see in the Sierra's.
Timber Creek was in good shape - really no blow downs.
I'll be back to this area

Bruciehi5 - always great to hear from you. Thanks for watching. When the sun was beating down on us, the water felt nice. Pretty cold during the morning crossings though.

Thanks SkyPainter. I think she comes by her outdoor interests naturally, but I suppose I'll take a wee bit of credit

I mentioned I got some shots with a pole.
I attached my UltraPod & GoPro to the end of an 11' telescoping pole. It's original purpose is to change light bulbs.

Anyway, here's a short video showing how much add'l height I could get out of it.

Thanks for watching WVadvrider. I've watched some videos on kayaking Wilson Creek - some were tame, others were crazy.

Great place ... and good times with the daughter. Really enjoyed watching the video too! The snake is not a copperhead ... besides the head shape, notice the banding on the back. On a Copperhead the darker "hourglass" shape is narrow in the center back and wider on the sides ... well on this baby it's just the opposite. Actually looks like a Northern Water Snake found all in our area. Lots of them meet an untimely death because they are mistaken for Copperheads.

Really nice video! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for sharing your trip. I plan to try to get my 14 year old daughter to take a trip with me like this...maybe your video will help convince her.

TallPaul, my old Wilson creek videos were on VHS (long time ago), unfortunately they had Barney recorded over them when my kids were young... true story.

I appreciate the extra details on the snakes. Not being from the south, I never spent much time learning about all the varieties growing up.

Thanks aboyd - I hope you are able to get her to go with you. I've just about got one of my daughters friends signed up, and she pretty much said she'd never go.

I kind of hate to admit it but that got me laughing. At least something good came out of it (plus I'm sure the kiddos enjoyed Barney).
