There are a few other women only hangs/kayak trips and the like. My wife probably wouldn't do it only because we both enjoy the outdoors and our kids also love to go. It's a special time for our family to do together.

That said, don't worry about a "Girl's nights out" type of hang. In the past, there have been no problems on this forum with it. Encouragement and appreciation for others has and I hope it continues to be a trademark of this forum. Plan away, but remember, plan to take plenty of pics and vids for us all to enjoy.

Good luck. And I hope you have encouraged others to do the same in their regions.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I definitely would be interested! I have always been a bit group shy (No, Really!), but I have been less so with other hammock hangers. It took me a whole year of solo hanging to get the courage to go to a group hang. I met the most amazing, generous, helpful and just plain fun folks. What the heck took me so long!

It would be great to meet other women to hang with and either of the suggested venues would be doable for me.
I am not very familiar with either of them, but this would be a great opportunity to explore new places.
Only time conflict might be the end of July, 'cause I might be hanging with my peeps.
I will keep watching this thread. If you need any help, just give me a shout out.

Thanks Scoot! I have never been to New River Gorge NP and of course Grayson Highlands is hard to beat for a beautiful location! And yes, Trail Dames is a VERY fun group with a mission to get more women out and into the woods. We have a chapter in Kentucky so check us out.

Count me in on the Women's hang!

I am very interested. The sooner dates can be locked the better it will be for me to be able to get off of work. Also I would be willing to ride share with anyone who is north ( I live in Michigan).

What about men with skirts kilts?

OK, on the serious side, this sounds like a great idea. Now all you need to do is to get us men to stop posting in your thread.
Too bad that a few men behave so badly sometimes and make us scared of all of you. It's true. Women can descriminate against men...

I know you're probably joking Beast but men are threatening to women. Not all of them, not even most but you never know what you're going to get. But on another note, an all women gathering changes the atmospher. It can be refreshing. Which isn't to say I don't love hanging out with men, especially a lot of the guys I've met at HF hangs. I guess it's not really fair that you can have an all women hang, while all hell would break loose it someone tried to organize an all men's hang. Life's not fair. This is the world we live in.

I would be interested but that's a long way for me to travel. I'll keep an eye on the thread though, you never know, may work out.
