    Multifunction Top Quilt

So I've seen posts about the Exped and Sierra Designs style sleeping bags which you can wear around camp. Neat niche ideas but I'm looking for a top quilt that would function as a backup sleeping back and a blanket. Essentially a square design that would open up flat and not have a dedicated foot box; maybe a drawstring in the foot area to trap heat and the addition of a full zipper for the sleeping bag effect.

There are a handful of times each year where I don't hang while camping/backpacking so I'm looking to do double duty and get the most out of a quilt.

Anyone know of a cottage vendor, or other, that might produce what I'm looking for? I have emailed UGH to see if they would do such a customization. Waiting to hear back. I thought I had also seen an Australian company (name eludes me) that did a Kickstarter with such a quilt idea but they currently do not offer anything at the moment.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Both links are definitely the direction I am leaning towards. I have a lot of fabric at home and might consider making something but I'd save that for a winter project. At the moment I need something for summer.

I was checking those out as well. I'm not sure if they fold flat or not and of course do not seem to have a full zipper option. I am going to email them as well to see what their customization options might be.

I guess I'm surprised there isn't more of a demand for more functionality with quilts; perhaps there is and vendors are just starting to offer new features in future models though. With the investment in down I like to get as much out of what I buy as I can. I actually have an ENO down under quilt (don't hate lol) that I use as a backup down blanket. Works nicely when I need it and the temp rating is great for spring/summer/fall hangs not too mention a backup blanket in the colder months.

Looks interesting. I cannot seem to pull up the description at all though. Any idea what type of insulation and what the outside and inside materials are?

The Underwoobie is an improvement on both the Kifaru and Hill People woobies---neither can function as an Underquilt
