how do you attach drip lines to a webbing based suspension system?

Most don't. The buckles or rings will form a drip spot and the tail of the webbing coming down out of them works well to direct any water flow. If you need more than that tie a piece of shoe string or shammy towel around the webbing where ever you want.

Depends on if the buckles are under the tarp or "outside" it, allowing water on the connection behind the buckles. I like to convert my hammocks to a ring on each end - usually larks headed to the hammock, and attach my suspension to that. If I were using webbing and buckles, the buckles would be on a continuous loop larks headed to the ring.

Just to be safe in a decent rain, I always tie a scrap piece of towel around the webbing under the tarp. Just a strip about 1"wide x 8" long or so.
