Traveling Hammock Stand - swingset style portable

I really miss my hammock when travelling for business. I needed a way to hammock in a hotel room.
Been working on the design for a month or so. Had to be very portable.
One of my other hobbies is machine shop in the garage. Wanted a no-weld easy to assemble stand that was portable and could also be used for the occasional car camping. It's made for an 11' hammock (115" ridgeline). Longest pole is 5'6"

Pictures will tell most of the story.

It is made with 1 1/4"x1/16 wall 6061 aluminum tubing. I will post more pics with a hammock installed. Takes all of 30 seconds to hook one on that has continuous loops. The legs are of differing lengths with extensions that can be added to the short end to make it close to level on a level surface or the extensions can be left off for 8" of incline or put on the long end for 16" of un-level terrain. The ridge pole is in two sections joined with a connector. Assembly is just slipping all the parts together, gravity does an excellent job holding it all together.

This is a really nice stand. I am thinking you should put a price tag on that bad boy. I could see people buying that. Maybe add a third leg that goes upward to attack a tarp to.

I believe JToon is right.. market this. If you make an Etsy shop, let us know.

    Only a few suggestions:

    • I think I'd change is the maximum tube length to something around 24" - imagine duffle bag size
    • A "floor friendly foot" with angled rubber tips?
    • Titanium? Carbon Fiber? maybe for the 5th or 8th generation model

THis looks great! If possible, I would really love instructions on how to make this, pieces needed, and a roundabout cost of materials. Your stand is worth making

This is a real nice stand and very professionally done.
    does it 'rack' head-to-toe?

    Awesome!

I bet you could make [just] the end caps/swivel pieces so that they would the fit fence railing we typically use, or a common alternative...? I'd by a pair of those special end-caps and get my own poles locally.
