    First ever down UQ build.

I recently finished my first down top quilt so I thought why not go ahead and make my first down UQ. Material used was 1.1 oz calendered ripstop nylon, 0.9 oz no-see-um material for the baffels and 16 oz's of 850 FP down. I purchased the down from Rose Feather. I used the same down in my top quilt and was happy with it. This batch seemed to have a few more feathers but overall I was happy with it. I'm typically not a fan of grosgrain channels but I did use it this time for the side channels. I also added LineLoc 3's and grosgrain loops on each corner for a secondary suspension. The end channels are double folded rolled hem fabric. I haven't weighed it yet but should be warm to around 10 degrees.

Sorry about the rotated pictures again! I wish I could figure out how to get these to turn the right way.

Great looking end result. Your pictures and writeup make it seem so simple. Knowing that it's not, congratulations on a great end result and making it look so easy!

Thank you! It isn't really all that hard. It is a little time consuming...and a little messy when you start stuffing the down. Honestly, the hardest part was just deciding to do it. I have made a lot of gear but always shied away from down quilts because I thought it was to complicated. I did do a lot of research on HF and learned a lot from others on here. I finally decided that I would do it, if it didn't turn out perfect (which it didn't) that would be OK, I would still learn something. It took me 4 years to pull the trigger but now that I have, I feel a lot more comfortable making them. If I could just find a better way to stuff the down...

Thank you! There are certainly some mistakes but I can live with them and hopefully I learned a few things so I can improve on the next one.

Well done. How did you determine the amount of down for each of the baffles?
