Where does one purchase camping hammocks in Japan? Seeking storefront so that I can speak to a retailer that can explain the hammocks and tarps and suggest where to hang. Thanks!

Most people buy their hammock from Rakuten or Amazon, but mostly for recreational purposes. There's not a lot of hammock campers... yet. I do see momentum and was floored to see a bunch of hammockers on my last outing, but that was because a bunch of campers who met on Instagram decided to use hammock for a change.

    As to your question:
The trails is an online publication that often covers hammock. http://thetrailsmag.com

Hiker's Depot is one of the places I know that has a section dedicated to hammocks.
    https://hikersdepot.jp

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...mocks-in-Tokyo

They both have staff that understand English.

    Good luck!

Yup probably thinking of the tanuki.
I'll often see something like this on the popular trails.

    Also have wild boar (イノシシ).

Edit: I just realized I responded to an old post.
