    My first hang

    Hi there.
I've got my first hammock (Exped Scout Combi) for the Christmas but never had a time to really test it. Last week, with two of my friends I went to Sweden for a trek along trail called Bohusleden. Trek was spectacular but now I want to talk about my hammock experience.
For those who don't know Exped Scout Combi is a ready hammock system with their (Exped) own suspension system, hammock with integrated mosquito net and tarp. Whole set weights about 1.7 kg (heavy for hammock but still lighter than tent).

As an insulation I have used Exped SynMat UL 7. Could go for something lighter but opted for inflatable mat because were also sleep in wind shelters along the trail. I also used my North Face Cat's Meow sleeping bag.
I have to admit that I was sleeping very, very well in the hammock. Mat and sleeping bag made me feeling toasty inside (temperature was around 2C). But what is most important I had a long night sleep. Woke up late, very fresh and ready for next day's adventure. Seems like need to take an alarm clock with me for the next trip.
The only thing what raises my concern is a size of the tarp. In my opinion it could be a bit bigger. After few hours the webbing stretched a bit and breeze could reach my face.
But whole experience was very good. I had very nice sleep and hammock became my primary camping accessory.

I live in Scotland where forests aren't that prevalent. For this one I went to Sweden. Beautiful.

A hammock is amazingly comfortable compared to the ground isn't it! Glad you had fun.

Looks like y'all had a great time. You're right about a larger tarp to offer more coverage.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!
