    Thanks again CanadaDan.
I actually also just made an order from dutch too. Maybe we could have gotten a bunch of us canadians to have a large order sent to one address and then that person shipped the individual orders from within the country. It would need to be a substantial order to have savings that justify the process. Canadian group buys.

Thru-hiker has a similar system - I was a bit worried when I saw shipping of $35 on a $45 order, but next day I had most of the shipping refunded back to my PayPal account.

That site and the other canadian websites are great places to search for cheaper prices to take advantage of MEC's price match. That way you could most save of shipping costs if there's one near you.

well if you wanna be a wise guy, it means you don't need to wait for shipping. you can have it as soon as you go any store that will price match.

Yeah, I'm surprised that MEC isn't looking at Sawyer yet. I haven't looked into the Squeeze, but amazon.ca has some good deals on the Sawyer mini. Especially the 4-pack if you've got a family of hikers.

I totally agree about Dutch's shipping rates to Canada. Best I've found yet from the U.S.

Do you have any idea what their shipping fees were like? Looks like this isn't a typical webstore - I'm guessing you have to call or email to order?

$0.17 per foot for 7/64 amsteel seems crazy cheap. I think Redden Marine is often quoted as one of the cheapest in the U.S. and their 7/64 amsteel is $0.24 per foot. Seems crazy to think that we could get it cheaper in Canada.

I don't recall the shipping charges. Just give them a call and find out. Talk to Gina (I think is the sales rep name). Ordering is done over the phone. They will ship via Canada post, so the shipping won't be outrageous since amsteel is so light and compact. As for the price being so low, they sell miles and miles of amsteel, so they get great pricing from Samson Rope.

    Cheers

    Brian
