CRL Over Tarp w/ Gear Line Under Tarp?

Does any one rig there tarp this way? I like the advantage of the CRL under the tarp for hanging lights and such, but like the pitch of the tarp better with the CRL over the tarp. I'm thinking of simply adding a line under the tarp from tie out to tie out just loose enough not to effect the pitch of the tarp. Just curious if anyone has had any issue rigging this way? Thanks.

Maybe try adding a Ridgeline to your hammock, thus eliminating the need to hang excess items from your tarp

We use tree huggers on the hammock suspension, but most don't use tree huggers on the tarp suspension. However, if you are hanging weight off the tarp ridgeline, then you should probably be using tree huggers there too to avoid damaging the tree cambium.

I don't hang anything other than a thermometer off the tarp ridgeline.

+1 on the hammock ridgeline. Hanging RLs above and below the tarp seems like a ton of work!

I wouldn't run an additional line under the tarp if it allows rain to run under the tarp.

As mikethebeard wrote, if you want to hang stuff, why don't you put it on the ridgeline of your hammock? If you don't have a hammock ridgeline, it's easy to make one. It's closer to you when you're in the hammock, and it makes hanging your hammock consistently easier...

I bought a ridge line organizer from Mountain Goat. Tried that but found it was too big also unless I anchored it it place it kept sliding down to the lowest spot on the line. Always just out of reach!
On the other hand I've always got a hank of line with, 50' or so, and if I was sopping wet, has happened, I can string up a separate line under the hammock so my stuff can at least drip dry.

One of my friends thru-hiked the AT last year, he came back with a new habit of tying his doors back to one another on the inside of the tarp and using the line as a place to hang damp clothes. It's about 40" of line on my tarp. I've took to doing it now and it is a more convenient place to hang clothes than directly over your face, I would imagine a ridgeline organizer would work there as well.

I already have a hammock ridgeline, and an organizer. Just like to keep things like my lantern and maybe a couple socks or so further up. Especially in the cold.

That sounds like the best idea for some organizing!
