    Baffles for a DIY UQ/TQ.

    Hi everyone.
I am new to this site, and still learning how to find my way around to get the information I am looking for. So to start I'm sorry if my question has already been answered somewhere (I'm sure it has).

My question is how do you sew the mesh baffles into both sides off the UQ/TQ efficiently? Is there a video showing this step?
I am not a seamstress, not by a long shot. But I have just completed my hammock underbelly gear sling, much like the one ENO offers, and that was an exciting success. So now I want to make a down UQ and TQ. (A much more challenging endeavour). And I think I have it all roughly worked out in my head, and I have already found some great tips on this forum. It's just these baffles, they have me baffled.

    Thanks

I see what you did there.

Have you seen these posts? Not sure if they answer your question, but they'll probably come in handy anyhow:

Thanks for replying and offering those links. I went through them tonight, but unfortunately I am still not sure how to attach the baffle mesh to both sides (top and bottom) of the UQ. I get how to mark out where they go, and then how to see them onto the first side, but how do you sew all 7 or more baffle walls to the second side? There must be some trick or something to do it, because I can get the first one but then it is in the way of me doing the next one... Am I just not doing it the right way?

Chris - have you got the two pieces of fabric on opposite side of the sewing machine foot? You have to sew one, pull through the fabric to the next baffle location, and then unroll the fabric from the other side onto the same location, sew and then repeat. Once you do get it, you will realise how simple it is but initially it's hard to get your head around it. There was a good visual someone did but I can't find it right now.

This is a good description https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...l=1#post809656.

Great!.. Thanks everyone. I get it know. I don't know why that was so difficult for me to pick up.

SimonMc, you were right that is so simple now that i know how it works.

Boston, that simple little diagram is exactly what I needed.

    Great website, awesome support.
