    Superfly big enough for two?

Do you think that 2 people could hang under the superfly using one set of hiking poles as spreader bars between the hammock suspensions and the other set of hiking poles for a pole mod? will there be enough room for two adults to be comfortable and stay dry?

I haven't tried this, but IMO this could work in porch mode. However, if you're trying to batten down the hatches (i.e, inclement weather) and the hammocks are side by side, then the hammocks are going to be bumping into each other or the tarp - or both.

    Stacking the hammocks might work.

I am very set on the side-by-side hang method for personal reasons. If the superfly is not large enough (still waiting on more responses) has anyone had experience with tarps that could cover a side-by-side hang? Finding a large enough tarp for the job would save money and weight (vs. having 2 tarps).

If I was determined to have a single tarp big enough for two people I'd go with a custom design one - two ridge lines at fabric maximum width (58 - 60") using hiking poles and triangle suspension something akin to a bridge hammock suspension (angles could be much sharper) and side panels that are also full width so that you can lock down for bad weather.

Too bad I have no idea how to put a drawing on here...sigh, hope you get the idea.

Do you have a picture? click "go advanced" Under additional options (scroll down), there should be "manage attachments". Click that, and follow the prompts. You upload, drag the image, and insert it in line.

No, no picture to be had, it was just a design idea that I conceived on the spur of the moment in response to the OP's need for a tarp suitable for two.

Oh, well in that case, if you're still willing to share your idea, I would either:
    a) Draw it on paper/blackboard/whiteboard/medium of your choice and photograph it
    b) Use google docs, they have a drawing option under create new document
    c) Use one of the many online tools. They aren't always preferable though, since you could lose your work if your computer shuts down mid-draw.

I don't know if this is what you mean, but here. The teal represent hiking poles, and the blue represents the tarp suspension (do we call those guylines?)
