Let me rephrase my question, I meant if the hammock is stretched too long it will make the hammock longer than the sock. I'm just trying to run through different scenarios here to get a visual.
May I ask if you are a heavy person and if the hammock fabric stretches a lot when you get in it? If so you may have to tweak your ridge line length.
I'm 115 lbs and 5'2" and I found my sweet spot with my ridge line at 104" fixed. But a buddy of mine that is 300 lbs and 6'5" needed his at 114".

I'm using a 1.9 oz double layer and I'm 5'10" and 200 pounds. I really couldn't imagine too much fabric stretch. My hammock is most comfy where the ridge is and I've tried +/- about 7"s and nothing seems to help.

Well I cant figure what's wrong. Back in the winter I used a 20* Incubator with a 50 degree Pea Pod over that with my sock and I could still slip my hand down and feel a little space between the insulation and the sock. Can you take a pic with you not in the hammock so we may see your setup? There may be a clue there.

Does the sock lay on the hammock ridge line? If the attachment point is higher than the hammock ridge line it can be pulled up losing room on the bottom.

It is on the ridge, not higher.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but does the hammock / sock / UQ combo work without the extenders?

No. Without the extenders the omni tape on the sock comes undone as soon as you get in.

Based on it having a 109 inch ridgeline, and at 83%, it would be a 12 foot hammock.

    (Ridgeline / % Ridgeline) = Hammock length
    (108/.83 = 131)

An 11' hammock would have a ridgeline of around 100" if it was at 83%.

    Somebody can check my math.

With a 11' hammock you should have 8-10" of hammock sticking out of each end of the sock.
You should not be able to close the velcro at all.

Here is a picture of a WB sock and WL 11' Snipe. Note the black material sticking out the ends of the sock?
