    1st's

My first sewing machine ( I was intimidated by choices and different qualities ) ended up going with this simple singer (after reading someone say any machine will sew nylon). Took a shot with this and found it pretty easy to use.

I made one hammock out of a bedsheet to practice before starting on the ripstop. Bedsheet came out decent so I went back down to Joanne's and got another 2yds to make my son a small traveler type hammock.

I think it came out pretty good. He likes it. I have been tweaking the ridgeline..

After that made up a stuff sack to go with it..

Now on to an 11' for myself / or wife to use..

    Then on to some tarps...

Just wanted to say thanks, reading the forums has helped along the way.

Looking forward to bigger and better projects.

My 4yr old is a happy camper

Great pic of your son in his hammock--- Good On Ya'!
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.

    Looking good.

FWIW...door knobs usually just snap into place. I wouldn't trust them not to pull off.

Hey, if he pulls the doorknob off the door, think of it as an opportunity to teach him proper hang techniques and as an added bonus, you get a shot at a new style door handle... win/win. Though I think your son might be a little unhappy with the choices. LOL
Fantastic work. I wish My dad would have gotten me involved with this sort of stuff early on, looks like he's having a blast. Good on ya!

Looking good! Be careful. First machines can lead to second machines and then it's all down hill from there.
