    Fastfly or Profly?

Hi all! Quick question here. I'm 6'4, and I have an ENO Singlenest that I'm quite comfortable in. Everyone says get the doublenest, and maybe I will one day, but I have a backpacking trip coming up before that, and I'll be using the SInglenest.

Anyway, I want to get a tarp for it, and I'm bouncing back and forth between the Fast and Profly. My priority is protection from the elements. I've heard some people knock the diamond shape of the Fastfly, and the Eno website doesn't rate it very high for protection from weather, but its longer and much wider.

So my question is, which will do a better job of keeping tall, lanky me dry?

    Thanks!

Not sure how each one of those tarps cost, but you can get a silnylon warbonnet edge or wilderness logics tadpole hex tarps for around 80$. Just a thought if you would like to support cottage vendors instead.

I'd say neither... Go with a Superfly. I saw the pro fly in action during a rain storm and my friend ended yo soaked.

The Fastfly is a not a good tarp, for 80, 50, or less even. Even if it's a deal, I would not get a fast fly. I owned the Profly, and it is better, and you can stay dry under it. The goods of the Profly are it pitches nice and tight, and I like the cord-lock system it had, which made moving and dialing the tarp in really easy. The bads: there's not a lot of extra coverage and I don't like the included guylines. If you get this tarp, swap those out. If you are getting a great deal, get a profly. However, for retail, I agree with nuttsysquirrel. If you are buying new, you are in the 80 dollar range, and for that, I would look at the 2 tarps he recommended. Better coverage and a bit lighter. If you want to buy from a retailer, or you are worried about turnaround time, get the HH Hex fly for the same money as the profly. It is bigger and offers more protection

NEITHER! Their tarps are trash. Trust me! they are heavy and they come with crap for guylines,so more money out of your pocket. Check out the tarps from the cottage manufactures! you find much more value and be happier in the end.

Yeah, neither. Much better and cheaper options out there. Do a little research on some of the cottage guys sites. I believe Simply Light Designs has some reduced tarps on his sale page.

ENO is one of the few commercial brands of hammocks. Everyone else is pretty much a cottage manufacturer (Hennessy is borderline IMO). Unfortunately, almost all their equipment costs more, weights more, and has poorer quality than what the cottage guys can produce.

If you thinking a ProFly or FastFly or DryFly I'd spend the extra $5 and get a Warbonnet Edge, or Wilderness Logic's Tadpole. Lighter weight, and more coverage for the same price.
