To fix my numbers issue ( I accidentally said the ultralight backpacker):

    Expedition Asym zip:
    250lb limit
    weight of 2lb, 13 oz
good for people up to 6'

    Explorer Ultralight Asym Zip:
    250lb limit
    2lb 4 oz
good for people up to 7'

    To clarify, I am 5'11
It's a $100 difference in price (more for the explorer ultralight).

I just don't want to feel cramped, but don't want a bigger one if I will not lay as flat.
This will mainly be used for weekend backpacking (typically 30-40 miles), and its replacing my 3-man, 10+lb MountainHardwear tent I've been making do with for the past 3 trips.
I am 5'11" and 190 pounds, I bought an expedition but think you would be happier with the longer and lighter explorer ultralight. My experience is I find the exped a little cramped and I can't really get stretched out fully - I slept in it last night to check.
If you can afford it spend the extra cash, I think you won't regret it.

    Length over girth for me.

That all makes sense to me! That was the direction i was thinking, but why blow $100 on an upgrade i don't need. But in this case, i think I'll go with the explorer ultralight. Time to order and wait for spring to actually arrive!
Thanks all. Will definitely have to post a first trip report once i get on the SHT this year.

Got my Hammock, went with the Explorer Ultralight Asym Zip! Strung it up on some crab apple trees in the yard. Can't spend the night in it though (townhome association rules...and I'm on the board of directors, so I have to behave). Spent a bit of time in it and loved it. My wife quickly declared it is not something she would like (she's claustraphobic, and only likes to camp where she can use a shower and a bathroom), which means it's all mine. Surprising though - took me less than 5 minutes to set it up, without the fly. I got the impression from others there was a learning curve, granted I ended up pretty low to the ground, but the trees I have are no good any higher up. Perhaps there is more settling once you are in it for a bit? Can't wait to find some trees I can legally hang in for the night!
    Thanks all for the help!
