    MN>Rum River State Forest>May 2-4 (2nd Annual)

    Hey all,
Any interest in a spring hang at Rum River State Forest? A group of us went last year in the middle if April and had a great time. Exact location TBD but I'll have trail markers and the directions will be easy to follow. It's a beautiful forest. Camping and fires are legal anywhere in the forest, but we do try to practice leave no trace camping.
    Hope to see you there!

Count me intrigued, but uncommitted. I've also been thinking of doing part of the Rum River water trail this year.

    I'm in.
one vote for the same area as last year, Will tell Jon but i know he is going the following weekend.
The best things happen at the worse possible time.

It(I) might not be the prettiest thing, however It(I'm) is quite functional.

SON: Dad why do I have to make my bed? It is just going to get messed up again.
DAD: Why do you wipe your bottom.

Would the next weekend work for you? It's early enough in the planning stages that we could change it. Be advised that the next weekend is Mother's Day. Let me know!

What's the water trail? Last year we camped by the river, which was full of water.

I totally agree, TB! I was hopeful that you would come, and I'm glad you can make it. Same thing goes for you and Jon; would the next weekend work better? I think we should get a little closer to the river this year if we go to the same general area. At least we know which side of the river to start looking on, because the other side was some nasty stuff.

Jon is going mothers weekend with others, and im working,
I did part of the rum river last year, from hiway 23 down a few miles, there is a real camp site on the river a few miles down.
    The weekend before would work,
I think that was the weekend we went last year.
To Tony just come bring a few beverages of choice you will have fun.

Yes ! beverages , bacon and a massive ax! That's was quite the recipe for fun last year. Would like to make this one again. Might be unable to commit until late. My work schedule can change on a dime.

State water trails are designated river routes that are maintained by the DNR for canoeing, with rustic campsites along the way.

Hope you can make it! Sure would be fun to have you there again. If you come, maybe you should bring your Krampus and we can do a little exploring on Saturday.

Sounds awesome! I just got a canoe, so I may be looking into more of this type of thing.
