    The $10 DIY Box

Hey guys. In the next few days I'm going to be putting something on the site called The $10 DIY Box. I've been itching to offer a relatively inexpensive way for people to give DIY a try on relevant materials before committing to a bigger project and investing $$$ in a lot of fabric. I think a lot of times the fear of noobing out on the first DIY project prevents people from starting in the first place, so I'm hoping this helps out with that.

Aside from the thread injector itself, what I've put together is a box of goodies that gives you EVERYTHING you need to complete your first DIY stuff sack project. For $10 shipped, here's what ya get :

    (1) Random section of ripstop nylon - This is where you play around before getting down to business. After the first stitch you quickly realize that this box was probably a good idea
    (2) 10"x27" fabric blanks - One breathable 1.9 oz (Blaze Orange), one silnylon (Olive Drab)
    (1) 2' section of drawcord
    (1) cordlock

Although this is more than enough to get you to the DIY promised land, I wanted to give everyone a little something extra. I happen to have a couple yards of CUBEN FIBER laying around, so for as long as it lasts, I'm also including a 10"x27" blank of Cuben from CT3!

I'll have the box up on the website later today and post a link in this thread. Again, I only have a small amount of CUBEN right now, so it's first come, first serve on that. Thanks!

I will give this a try. One of the guys at work has been wanting to do a DIY hammock with stuff sack for lounging around between call outs.

I like your idea.....however, my father was in the dry cleaning buisness for over 40 years and I have still got mounds of fabric. most of it is nylon and poly. The little bit of wool I absconded with long ago... I wish I had some sil-nylon... I have been making pouches and bags out of the scraps for the last few years. Most of them have only been about 1.3 to 2.0 gal. size. Yes, I am old school. that is how I was schooled.
