Helpful, thanks! I just thought there'd be instructions in the box - my bad! I need the remedial DIY program! Thank you!

There's also a ton of different YouTube videos. Try a search on there for MYOG or make your own gear. You should get some hits.

Hey Robin sorry about the confusion there. I'm working on getting some resources on the site that will give some guidance for the DIY box, but these guys have given you great direction. Google is your friend . With the wealth of digital information available on DIY, I probably won't be putting instructions in the boxes, but you aren't the first person to ask so I will definitely make a point about that on the site.

Thanks again and if you need anything else don't hesitate. Good luck with your first DIY project and let us know how it goes!!!

Plenty of DIY Stuff sack videos on UTube. Worst thing that will happen is that you mess one up and I have done that plenty of times.
Correct. The pre cut blanks in the DIY box are ~10"x30" with the exception being the cuben at 10"x27". Like you said, these are best suited for making cylindrical sacks similar to what we use for the Big-Sil tarp with Appalachian Hammock. It should be fine for a hammock as well if you aren't trying to put more things inside like straps, etc.

I may look at tweaking this in the future, but I've always liked the longer, narrower sack so I just started with that size blank.
