    Know what you mean about the wind. My son and I camped on the lip of Rowe Mesa once. As the mesa heated it would dump air -- then as it cooled suck it back up! We had to find a thick grove of trees to keep from blowing away. But the views and calm between times made it worthwhile.
    Oh yeah, rowe mesa is pretty much my backyard! Never a good idea to camp on top of a mesa, but as you saw, I didn't have any choice.
