Black 1.1 from DIY Gear Supply Question down proof?

So I've got some black 1.1 from DIY Gear Supply and I'm thinking of making some quilts with it. My questions is if it is down proof? I ask because a while ago I purchased some green 1.1 from him and it was supposed to be down proof, but it leaks. So does anyone have experience with their black 1.1 and use with quilts (specifically with 850fp down)? Let me know. Thanks!

I've made a tq and an uq with it and had no issues. 800 FP. YMMV

Down proof fabrics should be calendared. The fabric is squeezed between two hot rollers to flatten the fibers and fill the voids in the weave. This leaves a telltale shiny finish to the fabric. Look for this clue.

Off topic....But shiny paper in magazines is calendared. It is coated with a clay formula and calendared with denim rolls to make it shiny.

DIY from someone on here. I don't really know much about what I bought, but I'm sure it's real nice. I'm gonna look, dissect and learn from this one.

the other fabric I used that is not down proof was calendared... but I have heard this before. I'm sure it's probably fine. Thanks

I've gotten a lot of 1.1 olive green (1sts and 2nds) from Scott and have not had any leakage at all. I have used anywhere from 550fp to 900fp in several quilts and still no leakage. However i did get some coyote 1.1 a year or so ago from him and it does allow quills to poke through but no down. How much leakage are we talking about?

Your DIY skills and videos are awesome btw and thanks for doing them!

it's not a ton, but it's noticeable. I have a few other quilt sets from Hammock Gear and the leakage is for sure more than "normal".
