Beads break...surprising ain't it? Another option is a short piece of cords buried in the loop. I haven't used it but plan on adding one where a bead went MIA.

Beads do break and i also have made my whoopies out of 1/8 amsteel and its hard to find beads to fit, , one solution to this is to just put a small continuos loop on it ! i run the end thru the loop just before i put it thru the bury,, wont greak, get lost oradd much wieght, plus i can color code the loops for head and end distinction
I don't use beads either. My loops are threaded through my tree hugger's loop (to keep me from leaving my huggers) so there is no chance mine will be buried. But, if I buy a set with them already installed (like Dutch's) I leave them on when I re-splice my huggers into the loop. Waste not want not...

I used glow-in-the-dark beads, just for fun. Then I got to thinking of the possibility of them breaking and tried this: single overhand knot with ends melted and smoothed very carefully.
I love the dice idea. Got me to thinking about the counterweights yoyo players use.
Personally, I just put a mini carabiner there so you also have something to hang your socks with.

Decided on a zip tie... didn't have any beads and was too engrossed in making these things... I now have 6... 2 ridgelines and two for hammock suspension. 1 set of 7/64 for wife... 1 set of 1/8 for me... They are pretty cool to make and I enjoy making them.
Thanks for the advice

I use a whipping knot that I got off Griz's video. Use that instead of the squeeze clips on any of the gathers on my stuff sacks, sunglasses, whatever. Darn things don't break don't ever seem to come off and don't slip. The single overhand knot with melted ends looks like a good option as well though I need a bit more to grab onto now-adays. Man, I remember being able to reach into a bin, pick up a single #2-56 nut and screw that onto a bolt and then repeat while building model airplanes. Now I find it difficult to pick up single #8 screws. I just don't have the dexterity and feel for the small stuff. Dang corrected Carpal tunnel, a little arthritis and close up vision problems. I think my fingers are fatter too, sigh. It's hell getting old.
Anyways, though the beads look cool, the zip tie is quick, I've both of them break. The Dice look super cool but I'd have to buy them. The knotted rope is generally a piece of cast off that I have after whipping a hammock end so they don't cost anything, are easily replaced if they ever do wear out and did I mention they have no cost, I always seem to have the material and again, the costlessness of the things.
Yup, gonna have to go with that. Let me see if I can throw the linked video into this post, if it doesn't start at the right place you can fast forward to 3:23 but as with his other videos, the whole thing is worth watching. Prof don't juggle or sing but he do let down the knowledge.
