Weight, not in the set-up I have. Money, marginally, yes. I use earth tones for my waterproof fabric (OD brown) and camo for the actual hammock body. The waterproof fabric is stock-standard 30d sil; the fabric on the hammock is 1.4 oz/sq yd ripstop.
It was marginally more expensive than the 1.4 to 1.6 oz/sq yd fabric I can get elsewhere (with the exception of DIYGS 2nds; it was roughly double that price), but not any heavier for the fabric I want to lie on. I think the total extra cost was somewhere in the $8 range over standard color fabric? Something like that...
As always, though, YMMV.
