Question Confused with model SB I got

I just received a Skeeter Beeter UL hammock from The Clymb sale. It was suppose to be blue but instead its red. I was looking on the internet and am confused if I even have the right model. This hammock has carabiners and not the S hooks. It is also labeled as the Ripstop Skeeter Beeter. It list the weight as 12 oz. on the placecard even though the lightest SB I can find online says 20 oz. The label on the bag says SBH-01. Any one have any idea what I have?

    Thanks.

The only Skeeter Beeter I've ever seen is green. You're certain your hammock has a bugnet? I've never heard of a GT SBP UL, only the GT SBP... Maybe I need to do some more research...

I pulled it partially out of the bag and it definitely has a bugnet. The washing label says it is polyester and nylon material. It feels heavier than 12 oz. but I don't have a scale here.

Does it say Grand Trunk anywhere on it? You may have gotten some sort of knockoff. This is the SB UL from the GT website... http://store.grandtrunkgoods.com/ult...beeter-hammock

Yeah, it has Grand Trunk printed on the bag. I guess it's an older or new model from anything they have online. I am thinking the weight must be a misprint. You couldn't get a hammock with an integrated bugnet for that kind of weight. Right?

Anyone have trouble sleeping in a RED hammock?

Yeah, you may be right, it may be an older model.

12 ounces seems too light to me. I think 20 is probably closer. I know the newer SBP (Skeeter Beeter Pro) is something like 28. My wife and I had those before starting making our own.

I have a bright orange one that I really like!

You should really head out to an office supply or shipping facility to weigh that thing! If it were a decent size I'd love to try out a 12 oz hammock with a bugnet. Post some pics if you can. Now I've gotta go to the clymb....

I would say its the not the current Pro model. The one I got from the Clymp over Christmas was the the old Skeeter Beater.

The old version is 9ft 6" long and holds 250 lbs and the new Pro is 10ft 6' long and holds 400 llbs

I included images of the tags that came with mine

The weight of 12 ounces is fairly accurate as it is the weight of just the hammock and net, not the heavy cord suspension and or other heavy junk binners they inlcude

Well I got out my digital food scale last night and weighed everything. With all the suspension they include it was about 31 oz. I stripped everything off and got it down to about 16 oz. I don't know what the 12 oz. or 20 oz. numbers are coming from. I threw some whoopies on it and its now about 18 oz. The shorter hammock has a definite different feel than my larger BIAS hammock. I think this will be good hammock for my son who is only 5'.

Probably comfortable for someone up to around 5ft 6.. Much taller than that and it might be a snug fit but then some people like short hammocks

I checked the Clymb's site and that is the Skeeter Beeter not the newer Pro hammock
