I find that very interesting, considering that Yellowstone was made a national park in 1872, and Philetus W. Norris made the first trails in 1878... unless the ones through Rowland Pass weren't considered marked?

FWIW There is trail marking as in where to go and nature trail marking as in what you are looking at. ;-)
