    Hello from Nashville, TN

    Hello folks!
I've been trolling so I thought I'll join instead of just reading folks chat ^_^

I'm very new to hanging. I grew up in a concrete jungle called Tokyo, Japan & now I've been in Nashville, TN for longer than Tokyo was my permanent home.

I ended up on this site while googling about hanging since I got some hammocks for 90% off and got me this idea. The idea I have is to setup hammocks for the kids using the bunk bed frame since the box mattress for top & the bottom broke in this past 2 months.

    Many inputs be greatly appreciated!

one word...cross-bracing (I know, that is actually two words, but the hyphen kind of gives it an air of superiority). You really don't want that bunkbed frame racking and falling on the kids in the middle of the night. If I were doing that for two hammocks, I might consider putting two sets of cross-braces in the middle of the bed so the hammocks can hang on the sides. IDK...just brainstorming here.

    Thumbs up

Welcome to the Forum from Indiana.
Once your project is complete, I'd bet that your kids will think it's pretty cool.
    Good luck with your conversion.

Welcome, also from Nashville. Hammocks can put enormous stress on whatever they are rigged to, so beware, test first, and expect possible unexpected failure. On that happy note, try it and see. LOL

Just for your info, we have lots of "hangs" in the middle Tennessee area. The next one is the weekend of April 12 & 13. Neo has already posted a thread about it. Good opportunities to see other set-ups, ask questions of experienced hangers, and just have some fun. If that sort of stuff might appeal to you.

    Enjoy!

    Welcome from Philly.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.
