When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.

My sit pad is a FedEx tyvek large shipping envelope, cut open to make a butterfly shape. I radiused the corners. It keeps my shorts from getting wet when I stop to sit on a rock while resting or having a snack.

The sit pads you have shown are an improvement on my DIY tyvek sit pad. Enjoy.

Use 2 envelopes and you could simply make your shorts in tyvek, saves getting anything out of your pack !!

I have an old thermarest that my buddies dog decided to use instead of my buddies shoe. Turned it into a sit pad and it works great when snowshoeing. Throw it down to sit on and keeps the butt from getting cold while I eat lunch or take a short break. Don't forget about it when the wind is blowing though, you will be running after that darn thing in a hurry.

I have 2 Thermarest ZLite mattresses. Being only 5 foot 6 inches they are longer than I need. I simply cut the top two panels off. They fold up nice and were free anyway. Not worth buying, but if you already have a ZRest it works awesome.

You, sir, are a smartass. It's better than being a dumbass by far.

I would try making shorts of tyvek, but the members here keep talking about kilts, so I'm having trouble making up my mind about the best choice.

Yep.. That sit pad is great.. Also use it in my hammock chair when it is cold..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..
