    Angry Byer of Maine help

So my daughter wanted an orange and brown (black?) BoM Amazonas hammock for her room, so I bought her the one we found at EMS last spring. We took it down for the winter to make room for her Xmas tree (she had a small one in her room) and put the hammock in a drawer.

Well.... 4 months later, one of the rope ends looks like this:

That's 4 months of being shuffled around by a 7 year old in a sock drawer for you but now, the hammock is pretty much worthless, 3 strings are really tight (from being wrapped around the others) so if you try to put a load on it, it won't be pretty.

For now, she's using mine (I own the exact same one for hanging in the yard) but would really like to know how to fix this one. I called EMS, and they don't stock them anymore. I like this hammock for the material, it's more forgiving, and more comfortable than 1.1/1.7/1.9 I've seen used, and it's a lot better on the wallet for kid use (especially the "uninitiated" friends of said 7 year old)

The other side, is pretty much fine.. 1 or 2 strings out of place, but nothing horrible

    Any help would be appreciated.

This is what I did, I tested with braided masons twine for proof of concept then finished with lashit.

I am SOOO glad I went through that other thread.

I have a Mayan than some mice had gotten into on one end before I left WA State. Happy to say there is a viable solution.
    Thank you!!

You are most welcome. Dejoha did some great work in a thread explaining how to tie an authentic clew. But that seems like so much work compared to making dogbones or individual strands that could be independently replaced. I'm a simple guy, maybe even clewless and I think I'll stay that way.

hk2001, just looks tangled, just like any other knot you will have to find the order to weave the suspension loop in and out of to untangle. It does not look too bad. It will just take some time and experimentation.

From what i can see it looks like you should start by taking the suspension loop and going through those two loops of single cord that look to be in the middle pinching the rest of the cords.

It doesn't look like a bad tangle. A little time and patience, or ask for help from an experienced angler. We're used to tangles. Also, Byer has its own customer service. Good luck.

Not nearly as bad as a baitcaster!

I never have much problem untangling - mine looks like that every time I pull it out of the stuff sack.
