    Hello from West Central Florida

I'm an assistant scoutmaster with a bad back who loves to camp but hates the aftermath and wants to hang to see if it will be a better option than a cot.

So far I have read about the projects and have already ordered 4 of the tablecloth blanks to test as I have 2 older sons who also want to try and one for my wife the cubmaster.

    Welcome to HF from Ocoee!
If you have back issues, you might try out a bridge hammock like the Ridgerunner or the Chrysalis. Both are fine hammocks. I promise you won't go back.

Welcome from Winter Haven. Table clothes are good way to experiment and learn the basics. It's what I'm using right now. You'll learn a tun from these forums.

thanks for the welcomes, as there will be 6 hangers in total in my house(if I can get them all to try it) I thought it best to see what others have done and what works and what has not as I hope it ends up a WIN/WIN for all of us.

    Welcome from Gainesville!

I think you'll find that FL is uniquely well-suited to an hammock. Hammocks eliminate the primary problems with sleeping outdoors here: bugs, heat, roots, and poor drainage on most prepared campsites. The only real issue with 'em is under insulation, and that's minimized during ~90% of the year here given our climate.

    Welcome to the forums!

    Another "HIYA" from Winter Haven.

Look up "sheet bend" in a knot guide. I use a double sheet bend.

You can have your table cloths hanging in minutes. No sewing required
