Boo boo on my uq plan

I was planning my uq and went in walmart to see if they had down comforters, if so the plan was to remove the down for my uq. I saw one for $29. Hey what a deal. So when i ordered the material for my green hammock i ordered enough for the uq. Got at it today and sewed it up for torso size. Went back to walmart and the down comforter i had planned on using was actually down alternative. Bummer. Plan b. ordered some apex climashield and plan to cut it and slip in the panels. If i run across some reasonable priced down i cam replace that fairly easily. Then again I may be happy with the climashield. Arrowhead equipment uses climashield for their quilts so i am sure it is good stuff, i was just hoping for smaller pack size. My camp pack is about to bust at the seams. Hope this works putting in in panels instead of a solid sheet. I just hate the thought of removing all those stitches.

Nice way to make lemonade out of lemons!
Seriously, that's a good way to progressively upgrade equipment as the budget allows. Your shell (and suspension) is completely reusable.

I agree with MAD777. Great way to use what you have already constructed.

Thanks for your support. I sort of jumped into this without knowing a lot about it and as i learn i realize i need to slow down and do more research before starting out on these projects. Thing is I have plans to camp and river kayak with my hammock and I need the items now.
