Planer board line for guylines?

I read about this being used as tarp guylines on another forum. It's made from braided Dacron, and comes in 135 & 200 lb test. I'm gonna head to Sportsmans Warehouse tomorrow to check it out. But I was wondering if anyone here had already tried it? You can get it cheaper than this link, it was just a good pic.

I'm not sure what Ed Speer's no-tangle line is made from, but since I've bought and used braided Dacron for fishing, both ice and as planer board material and since I just came into possession of the Ed Speer's no-tangle line, it seems they are very similar. I don't know that they are the same, but I knew that line seemed familiar. Excellent catch! I love finding things like this!

You could go below 130#, though - if you can find it.

I have used the 130 lb line in bright green for years with great results, it will even do well using a taught line hitch for adjustment. The color is great also, easy to see.

Is it rigid enough to resist tangling?

Oh yeh, that stuff should work excellent. I've used the stuff for years with offshore tackle. Stretch is minimal, it's got good body to it and it's tight woven enough that should a tangle or knot develop it can be pulled out pretty easily.

Never seen it in any color but primary white with green tracer. High vis green would be awesome.

I've used that stuff, in the lighter weight and a bright yellow color. Good visibility at night. It does tangle quite a bit but works fine. I use it with linelocs.

i thought ed's was spectra/dyneema with a poly cover

i've used briaded polyester before and it seems to work well (dacron is name brand polyester) i think like others have pointed out, what makes a good guyline is low stretch and being stiff enough so it doesn't tangle and snag easily. polyester stretches more than dyneema, but i've never had problems from the little amount that it does stretch.
