I know I may be out of the product I ordered from a vendor on this forum, but I also want to thank this forum list for the enjoyable reading, bantering and all the gteat information I have gleaned.

Brian, You have never replied to any of my messages. I feel that you have cheated me on my purchase. I ordered a McCat Ultra and received a silnylon cat cut tarp. I ordered over the Thanksgiving Black Friday sale period. Please respond to me so that we can work this out and I become a satisfied customer. Otherwise I will have to take to the forum and cyberspace. Perhaps you do not care, as evidenced by your lack of response.

    Thanks

And so it continues. I saw an announcement a while back that he was back, but I wondered why anyone would bother. I had one and it was a super quality product, but there are plenty of other high quality products here also where you can actually contact the manufacturer. Never heard of any trouble contacting JRB, for one example.

These negative experiences dealing with OES have been ongoing for sometime now. If I were looking for a new tarp I'd steer clear of OES and look to do business with a more reputable company. There is no doubt the products are top notch but the customer service is downright awful. There are plenty of other good choices out there.

So perhaps instead of getting a cat cut sil hex tarp (MacCat) the OP instead received a rectangular sil cat cut tarp.

    Confusing, innit?
Agreed that its confusing, but I'm sure this is what the OP meant. Shouldn't we be more apt to assume that first? Or were some just not aware of that other category of product? It does appear that the OP used language that is both descriptive of the Maccat, and not specifically descriptive of the rectangle cat cut tarp which only comes in silnylon.

Thanks everyone for all the comments. What the comments did was made me go back and really study the web site. In my view, I saw the photo that had the three tarps all on the same ridge line. Since I am new at this, I thought that was the McCat Ultra. So now I know, and I apologize for not looking at this better, but had Brian gotten back to me, this thread could have been advoided with just his explanation. The tarp is fine, and I have no complaints about the product, just the customer service.

    Again, thank you

I'm confused. So did you receive a MacCat Ultra, as ordered - but were confused because you thought that when set up it should look like the picture with the multiple tarps stacked on each other?

His site and the pics with the tarps on top of each other is somewhat confusing. I've got a MacCat Deluxe I bought here used and had a few questions about it and was going to order another for someone else but after no less than 5 unanswered email attempts over a two month period I've gone in another direction. It's too bad as his tarps are a quality product.

Still would love to see pics of the hammock and or tarp hung at Emon Beach or somewhere else on the island. Just to bring back some memories.
Cheers and glad it all worked out.

Yep, I received what I ordered and was confused by the photo on the web site. So, for that I apologize, but like I said, a response from Brian would have cleared it up right away.

Pics will be from Roi and Kwaj, must watch for the coconuts.

So there is a market for my hammock helmet beyond just people using 1.75 mm Zing-It suspension. Great news!
