    Under Quilt Protector review

Greetings - although it has all been said before...I haven't had a chance to say it - that is until today. I used the 2QZQ UQP this past weekend on a 3 day / 2 night hike in Western Massachusetts on Mount Greylock. The added warmth and the feeling of confidence that your UQ is safe from the elements were all present for me. We experienced a winter rain, thunder and lightning storm on Friday night. Although there was no mud to splash up like normal 3 season conditions we did end up with a good deal of slush the following afternoon around camp. While in porch mode, I saw different times that the UQP had splash marks and slush up on it from walking around....it could have been my quilt! Great quality, incredible service and a useful piece of gear....what is not to like?

I am glad I have one!

I'm considering purchasing one to protect my new incubator. I tried to explain to the wife how this is really an insurance policy to protect my investment in the UQ. I'm not sure she really bought it.

Anyway, just went to 2QZQ and see they have the protector in ripstop and silnylon. I think the ripstop is the better choice for me. What type did you purchase and what were the deciding factors?

Ripstop for me. I do not like the idea of the potential for condensation....I got everything I had hoped for this weekend. In all honesty, it is insurance.

    I say buy it!

Congrats on your purchase. I posted a similar report back in January. I was on the Annual NEHHA Winter Hang which turned out to be a rainfest. If it wasn't for my UQP, I don't think my Incubator would be dry yet.

I enjoy the Mt. Greylock area also. I do a lot of overnights up there in the Spring, Summer and Fall with my Golden Retriever. It's a wonderful resource and has a lot to offer.

Best of luck with your new acquisition. You'll get an awful lot of use out of it.

    All the best !

Very happy with the breathable ripstop.
Makes all the difference in the world when it is windy.
    Using mine very day.

Small, light, handy piece of kit.

Is there an easy way to tell between the silnylon and ripstop? Mine ripstop doesn't seem to breathe at all and I'm wondering if the material got mixed up.

Donna here...The breathable fabric is softer and will scrunch up easily without collecting air....no ballooning affect. The silnylon is much harder to fold or scrunch. It isn't breathable, so it will fight you when you want to fold or scrunch it up.
There is always the possibility for a mix up...but I doubt that it happened. I rarely make the black silnylon UQP. I always double check to make sure the customer wants the sil when they order.
P.S. I just tried calling you...the missed call is me...call if you want.
