I do similar (also with hot pink mason's line!) I threaded a length of mason's line THROUGH the arrow shaft toggle and tied a loop. I LARK'S HEAD the loop on to the strap's loop when breaking down. Can't be lost and if I drop it, I can see the bright pink mason's line in the leaves. No drilling holes in the toggles and no melting holes in the straps. Good luck!

What about making a hole in the end of the strap, and drilling a hole in the toggle, and tying it on with paracord? Then it slips out easy but it won't get lost.

I have my toggles and straps in my "evening kit" bag - It holds my bear bag rope, tree straps, tarp pegs, and toggles. It doubles as my rock bag when I need to hang the bear bag. Pretty much all the stuff I need in the evening when making camp.

These variations are sparking new thoughts. I like the idea of keeping them attached to the ends of the straps so they are right where you need them. I will keep thinking about all of these ideas. His is great!

I can't get over thinking that a big loop of one inch webbing hanging down from the toggle
would constitute an attractive nuisance to the camp prankster.

Since this thread has already been resurrected, I'll just say I love that idea of using an "evening bag" that doubles as a throw bag.
