There's only one thing better than a three-wheeled Sherpa:
A two-legged one to push it on the way back!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, FLHanger.
I had 30 lbs worth of dog on board, including Canela, the 17 y.o., blind, 90% deaf mutt who kept slipping off on the way in cos I had replaced her bed with sides to a flat pad.
I was sure I would have less weight going back, but they were going to throw out about 6 lbs of MMB (Mountain Man Breakfast). I was also given the remaining drunken dates (how the heck do you skewer them with the pits? Cut the pits out first, I imagine.), AAAAAAANNNNNDDDDDDD what was left in the boxed bottle of Maple infused special whiskey! Will get some bacon and try cooking the drunken dates in my NuWave oven!
I kept some tortillas and the small bag of MMB, and took the rest to my neighbor, who has three 20-something kids living at home. And it was going to be tossed!
What fun. Love having a creek to swim in. Plenty of shade. Nice sleeping temp, despite lots of mozzies on the Sat night but my Switchback's net did it's job. The best lasagna EVERRRRR! Her "secret" is a combination of cottage, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese.
I thought my favorite pic was Damien pulling the Sherpa, but I think it's gram weenie MAD777 hiking in with a DUTCH OVEN! He did point out that the aluminum version weighs a quarter of the cast iron one.
People were soooo friendly and helpful. Too hard to thank individually, but I am very appreciative. Thanks to all. Oh, thanks to Old Dog I've been converted from not liking grits. First, with shrimp at FH4, and now with bacon and cheese. I'm even going to try making some at home.
For the next car camping hang, I'll take my new Lodge cast iron wok!
