    Very nice.

FWIW...the O.D. of the .625" poles is very close to that of 1/2" copper pipe so 90* elbows might be able to be incorporated into a design to connect the corners of the frame and allow the use of the leftover spreader bar to replace the PVC bottom section. Of course the current length of the leftover speaderbar section is too long for this.

Thanks gmcttr, that copper elbow sounds like a great idea. Might have to think about that for the next one. The 3rd spreader bar is full length minus the 2" pole insert.

Thanks Dutch, coming from you that means alot. This build was almost a direct result of watching a few of your videos.

That's a fantastic bit of design and engineering, I absolutely love it.
I've never used a bridge hammock but I always use an frame pack, usually external. The reason I've never considered it is due to the heavy bar being a one trick pony. As to the extra weight I think its a non issue as weight on a well framed pack feels less than on the UL packs.

(Sorry I haven't watched you vids as my short attention span precludes it)

Thanks. Yeah, the videos are abit long and draggy at times. I try to edit them down to eliminate some of that but can only go so far with editing. They are merely there for those who are DIYing their own packs and trying to soak in some info on what worked for me and what didnt. On the future builds I will plan out all the steps and footage so that everything flows nicely and is short and to the point. I am a bit of a rambler.

Only thing left to do is work those pole pieces into a bucksaw. Practically there now.

Thanks CrappyfishRman. I can't recommend DIY/MYOG enough for those who enjoy the process of making things. I had alot of fun making hammocks and various other projects but by far the most fun I have had was making this Backpack. I had to force myself to quit adding more things to the pack. I can't wait to start the next one.

I'm glad nobody has asked me what it cost to make this pack because I wouldn't want to scare anybody away from MYOG.
