    larger people in mosquito

Anyone here over 6' use a Claytor Mosquito hammock? I am just looking for some opinions and observations for larger people who use this hammock. Thanks.

Don't do it IMHO...go with the Jungle model. I believe the majority here are in agreement with that sentiment. My wife is only 5'2" and she greatly preferred the larger model. She originally had bought the Mosquito and sent it back for a Jungle. I'm 6'2" and found the Mosquito too small for my tastes.

Well, it wouldn't be for me. I actually sold my JH and purchased an exped after trying my son's mosquito. I am 5'7" and find it to be very comfy. I'm just wondering if Claytors statement on their website is truthful, that people up to 6'5" can be comfy.

Second that! I am 5'11" and I feel like I am at the max for the mosquito model. It is an 8' hammock. General rule for gathered end hammocks is at least 2' over your height. I let a friend who is a little over 6' use it and he was not that comfortable in it.

Hacktorious, I have both the expedition and the jungle hammock. I am 6 ft. 1 in. tall and 180 lbs. When I want to really cut weight I go with the expedition and find it as comfortable as the jungle but I cannot bring as much stuff inside the hammock. This is not a big deal because when going ultra lite I am not carrying that much to begin with. Comfort is a very individual thing so others may feel differently.-John

I don't have the Jungle, but I do have an Expedition. At 6' I fit, but that's about it. The same hammock in the no-net model is much more comfortable for me. I can't imagine a 6'5" person being comfortable in the smaller Claytors. Clark says basically the same thing, but I don't agree. Opinions do indeed vary.
